Father God, my heart longs for a pure heart and a truly steadfast spirit. I want to be firm and resolute in faithfulness to You. But I know this is only possible through a consistent, faithful pursuit of Your heart and mind. Help me, Lord! May I not be shaken by the world’s temptations and its lure of shallow living. Give me an unquenchable thirst for a life of holiness—a life anchored in Your mercy, power, and limitless love. I love You, Jesus. You alone are worthy of worship and praise!
Have a blessed week serving the God of restoration and renewal!

I’ve read the verse countless times. Cast all your anxiety on Him… (Yes, Lord, I get it. I’m supposed to place all worry and stress at your feet. Just give it to You. Lay it down and walk away…)
But this time, I couldn’t get past the word, “cast.”
A strong word—one that carries more force and action than merely “placing” or “laying.” The official definition is to throw or hurl; fling.
Well, my goodness. This changes things. Continue reading
A recent 4 1/2–hour flight from Austin, TX to Raleigh, NC morphed into nearly 12 hours.
Severe thunderstorms rocked the South and interfered with dozens of flights. Exhausted travelers and flight crews worked to maintain cheerful attitudes (Um, a handful of flyers gave up trying).
Upon takeoff, the flight was bumpy and the seat belt signs remained engaged. I tried not to worry as volatile air currents seemed to have their way with our aircraft.
(The whole flying thing seems illogical to me anyway. I mean, really. Shooting through the air in a metal tube? Mercy.)
But then something amazing happened. Continue reading
This week I have the privilege of guest-posting on Just18Summers.com.
I hope you’ll hop over and check out the post and then hang around and enjoy the Just 18 Summers parenting resource!
She avoided eye contact and burst into tears at the slightest reprimand. Eleven years young and navigating the middle-school minefield, her emotions were on edge—but the recent behavior was unusual for my easy-going daughter.
Attempts to question or console were rebuffed. So I waited. And prayed.
Several evenings later she approached, fingers clenched and tears pooling. “Mama?”
In minutes, my daughter spilled her heart and confessed something she had done wrong months ago.Surprised, I asked her to repeat the confession. Sure enough, she was distraught over a misdeed from the previous school semester.
I must be honest. In my heart, I smiled a little. How precious is this? She’s so sensitive, she feels bad about this little bitty…

Have a blessed week!

As I waited for my computer’s antivirus software to grab another little chunk from my credit card, I thought about all the preventative measures we take. It’s a part of life to line up protection for gadgets, homes, cars, etc. We spend a ridiculous amount of cash to keep stuff (and ourselves) safe.
We live in a fallen world and the weight of evil can be overwhelming. Moaning under the burden, we may ask why?
It all comes back to what we celebrate this week.
Freedom. Continue reading
What an exciting day! After months of praying, planning, and more praying, in the Quiver, a new home and parenting resource is officially launched. I’m blessed to join a great team of gifted women with hearts for God—Marcy Martin and Hilary Hall.
From the website:
Three women, three paths, one purpose: to glorify God where we are.
And we are where you are. Balancing families and finances, homes and hearts, dreams and demands.
But through it all, daily we strive to put on the full armor of God, endeavoring to fight the good fight and grow through the journey.
Our aim with in the Quiver is to come alongside you, our fellow friends and warriors in the faith, to equip and encourage one another, fortifying our quivers through devotions, practical parenting tips, and home ideas.
Father God, once again we are reminded of the fallen state of our country. Our hearts ache for the terror experienced by our leaders. I pray for the families of those involved, that they will know Your presence and will seek the peace You provide. Oh Father, heal our land. Convict Your people to continue in prayer for our country—today and always. And please use this experience to draw our leaders closer to You and to each other. Thank you, Jesus, for what You are going to do. In Your precious, Holy Name.
Praying for our beloved country,
“Did you know it’s possible to unload a dishwasher while holding a book in one hand? Books are like friends. You can never have too many, and good ones grow better over time.”
These are the words of contemporary Christian romance author, Norma Gail. At a recent writer’s conference, I so enjoyed meeting her and this week I have the privilege of being interviewed by Norma Gail on her website, 2Me from Him, about my new book, Ribbons, Lace, and Moments of Grace.
Her latest release, Land of My Dreams (Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas), is a contemporary Christian romance set in New Mexico and Scotland.

Father God, when our world seems full of evil and chaos, I am so thankful for the reminder of your unfailing love. Help me to trust in Your holiness and justice, and to know that in Your time, You will set all things right. I love You, Jesus, and I trust Your heart.
Take comfort in knowing our God is in control!
Have a blessed week,
Leigh Ann 🙂
Life can be, um…busy. And overwhelmingly chaotic (I know, astounding bit of wisdom, right?)
So chaotic, in fact, that I tend to run out of fuel—physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
What’s a girl to do? Continue reading
