My Dear Country,
Today, on your birthday, I want to say thank you. You are truly a land of opportunity—a place of freedom to live, work, worship, and raise a family.
You are a land of dreams—fertile soil for those with plans and vision. A springboard for reaching beyond ourselves and seeking God’s best.
Within your borders are the extraordinary: pastors, teachers, counselors, firefighters, law enforcement, scientists, artists, athletes, architects, doctors, researchers, designers, engineers, technicians, businessmen, students, and so much more.
You are the land of the American military.
A place of honor,
You have my respect and my loyalty.
So today, I will not criticize and point fingers. I will not seek to place blame for your weaknesses. I will not shake my fist at you or shout about your faults.
Today, I will praise God for the country that you are and the country you strive to be.
I will continue to pray for you. That your soul would yearn for the Living God. That the sacrifices of your forefathers would never be in vain.
And that you remember the source of all hope is in the faithfulness of your Creator.
I praise God for you, America.
Happy, Happy Birthday.
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 1 Timothy 2:1-2
